Seller Terms

Rules for creating a seller account and using seller tools on Made in Ethiopia.

Last updated 8 September 2026

Agreement

These Seller Terms govern creating a seller account, using seller-facing pages, and starting a vendor application on Made in Ethiopia. By creating a seller account, you agree to these Seller Terms and our Privacy Policy.

These Seller Terms are not the shopper Terms of Service, and they are not the Marketplace Seller Agreement. Shoppers who only buy on the platform are covered by the Terms of Service. The Marketplace Seller Agreement is a separate commercial contract. You must open and accept it on the last step of the vendor application before you can submit that application.

Seller accounts

A seller account lets you apply to sell and, if approved, use seller tools we provide. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher), able to enter a binding contract, and authorized to act for the business you represent.

You agree to provide accurate registration details and to keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your seller account. We may refuse, suspend, or close seller accounts that appear fraudulent, abusive, incomplete, or in breach of these Seller Terms.

Applications are not approval

Creating a seller account does not make you a live vendor and does not guarantee approval. We review applications, may ask for more information, and may approve, reject, or close further resubmissions according to our vendor process.

Until we approve your application, you may not present yourself as an authorized Made in Ethiopia seller or list products for sale on the public shop.

Information you submit

When you apply, you must submit truthful business and contact information, including a valid Ethiopian TIN, planned product details, and any documents we request (such as a business license). False or misleading submissions are grounds to reject or close an application.

How we collect and use that information is described in our Privacy Policy, including the section for sellers and vendor applicants.

Acceptable use of seller tools

You agree to use seller tools lawfully and only for your own application and, if approved, your own catalog and orders. Without limitation, you must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems, or interfere with the service or other users.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in a seller account or vendor application.
  • Misuse promotional, review, or operational features, or attempt to circumvent platform payments.
  • Scrape, overload, or automate the service in a way that harms availability or security, except for ordinary browser use or tools we expressly allow.

Marketplace Seller Agreement

If you continue to a vendor application, you will be asked to read and accept the Marketplace Seller Agreement before submitting. That agreement covers listings, pricing and payouts, fulfillment, customer data you receive to ship orders, delisting, and related seller obligations.

These Seller Terms do not replace that agreement. Selling on Made in Ethiopia requires both: these Seller Terms for your account, and the Marketplace Seller Agreement for the seller relationship.

Intellectual property

Made in Ethiopia’s name, branding, site design, and platform software are protected. You may not copy or reuse platform materials except as allowed by law or with our written permission.

Disclaimers and liability

Seller tools are provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every application will be approved.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Made in Ethiopia and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of seller tools. Mandatory protections under Ethiopian law still apply.

Suspension and changes

You may stop using seller tools at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you breached these Seller Terms, pose a security or fraud risk, or if we must do so for legal or operational reasons.

We may update these Seller Terms as the marketplace evolves. The “Last updated” date on this page will change when we do. Continued use of a seller account after changes take effect means you accept the revised Seller Terms.

Governing law and contact

These Seller Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Seller Terms.
